Custom Window Art with Window Decals and Window Stickers by Oh Brooke

Brooke over at Oh Brooke created a great use for a clear custom decal with window decals and window stickers. She has a plain front glass door, and she decided to create her own design to cover the full surface area of the glass panel.  Using sticviews clear stic vinyl, Brooke created a custom window decor decal with a design she created in Illustrator.  Check out her blog for tips about using Illustrator to create your own pattern.

As you can see in the first image (before) her front door was a plain white door with a single clear glass panel.  With Brooke being the designer she is the possibilities were endless when sticviews reached out to her.  Her final decision was to create a pattern in Illustrator to create her own custom window decal.  Check out her blog about sticviews window decals for more information.

The custom window decal turned out great!  It’s light enough that you can still see through the window clearly, but when Brooke or her husband pull the shade down you are left with a soft pattern and the letter of her last name.  This is such a great idea that I’m thinking about doing the same thing to my screen door of my apartment!

Some other great ideas for window decals:

  • Stick up your favorite artwork (scan it in and submit it on the sticviews site).
  • Search our gallery for a great landscape image and stick up a great view.
  • Stick up a wrought iron decal.  There are several different styles available in our gallery.
  • Stick up some great family photos.  You could use clear or white vinyl for this one.

Custom Wrought Iron Cabinets – Home Decor with Custom Decals and Window Decals

Featured Order of the Week – Custom Wrought Iron Cabinet With Custom Decals and Window Decals

Custom Wrought Iron Cabinet With Custom Decals and Window Decals

I wanted to showcase an awesome use for custom decals for home decor using sticviews.  One of our customers ordered wrought iron decals on white stic to decorate her entertainment center!  How awesome does it look using custom decals to decorate and give the furniture an updated look?

Wrought iron designs (which are featured in our gallery) have been used for window decor, but I never thought about using wrought iron on furniture!  I wanted to feature this innovative idea.  What do you think about it?  Not only did she use images from our gallery, but she customized them with the “M” in the center of the two smaller wrought iron designs to create a monogram – what a neat idea!

Using sticviews for home decor really adds some great style to the room.  Also using the dark wrought iron ties into the dark of the “Love,” “Family,” and “Joy” words featured over the entertainment center.

Tell me what you think of this idea of using sticviews to create a new, affordable look for your living room.  I’d love to have some feedback!

Custom Home Decor - DIY China Cabinets using Window Stickers and Window Decals

Cathe Holden, author of the Just Something I Made blog did a wonderful review of sticviews furniture decor skins, and she had a great concept for sticviews to help with home decor.  I’ve uploaded some of the image she used for her blog, The sticviews Giveaway and the China Hutch.

She ordered a reversed image to stick on the inside of her cabinet and then taped the backing paper to the inside of the cabinet as well to take away the transparency of the clear vinyl sticker she installed.

This is a picture of the items that came along with her order.  It’s easiest to install with water (hence the small water sprayer) because it allows you to move the material around on the “stuck” surface until you have it just right.  A white foam squeegee helps smooth the air pockets from the middle of the sticview.  And the blue plastic razor blade helps pick up the image if you need to move it around a little more before it’s completely secure.  And remember, the best part about sticviews is they stick anywhere and come off clean!

Cathe said in her blog that it only took thirty minutes for her to install the sticview from cutting to taping, and it looks absolutely fantastic!  What a wonderful idea for a sticview – and a great way to spruce up an old China cabinet!

You can go to her blog about the review to view her steps and the downloads for the trading cards.  The giveaway is already up and I’m eager to see what the winner is going to order.  The contestants definitely had some great sticview ideas – the possibilities are truly endless!

Cathe is also a graphic designer and owner of Home Grown Logos. You can also read her design blog at Farm Fresh Creative.  She definitely has wonderful creative talent.  And I’m excited to see her uses for sticviews as time goes on!
